Most people who start up in business do so because they have a good business proposition. We can help by evaluating your ideas and helping you develop them into a feasible business.

    We can also help you:
    • decide on the most suitable structure for your business (i.e. sole trader, partnership or limited company).
    • prepare a business plan, cashflow projections, and trading forecasts to prove the financial viability of your
ideas and demonstrate this to the bank/potential investors
    • assess your finance requirements and access the most appropriate source of finance
    • help you establish relationships with banks, solicitors, etc via our well established network of contacts
    • carry out registration procedures with Companies House and HM Revenue & Customs

Call us for a free consultation to find out how we can help your ideas become reality.

      Accounts preparation

Every business has a statutory obligation to produce accounts annually for the relevant authorities, typically HM Revenue & Customs and Companies House.  One of the key objectives in accounts preparation is to identify areas where we can assist in minimising your tax liability. Another key objective is to ensure that the accounts are compliant with all the statutory regulations. In addition we like to gain a full understanding of your business so that we are able to give advice and recommendations tailored exactly to your requirements.  We take the time to explain your accounts to you so that you understand what is going on financially within your business, helping you to plan for the future.

      Management accounts

We can prepare your Management Accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis in order to help you track how your business is performing, and identify strengths and weaknesses in good time. Some businesses will require management accounts to be prepared on a monthly or quarterly basis for the purposes of providing information to your bank to support a borrowing facility.

We can register you or your company for VAT and advise on the optimum VAT scheme suitable for your business. We would advice you to adopt the most effective VAT scheme in order to mitigate your VAT payments or maximise your VAT reclaims. We complete VAT returns in good time to ensure you avoid any penalties. Likewise, if it is beneficial to de-register for VAT then we would also advice you accordingly.

      Payroll (PAYE)

Payroll has to be done on time and you as the employer are responsible for the mistakes. We run payrolls on a weekly,
2 weekly, 4 weekly or monthly basis and we can provide a tailor made service for your business including...
    • employee payslips
    • completion of P45’s for leavers
    • End of year annual returns for the Revenue (P35, P14’s P60’s & P11D’s)
    • ssue forms P60’s to your employees
    • New CIS returns completed by us

You will never have to worry about calculating statutory sick pay or maternity pay and dealing with tax credits and student loan deductions ever again!

Some businesses do this work themselves but often it is more sensible to have us do it for you, allowing you to get on with the important job of running and growing the business. It can also help you to reduce your year-end accountancy costs, make VAT inspections less of a worry and also deal with any tax enquiries by making sure your book-keeping properly reflects the business’ transactions. When we do the bookkeeping we can provide you with proper management information to help you run the business. It also allows us to complete your VAT returns for you very easily.

      Company Formations

You would not have to worry one little bit about the legal requirements of a limited company.
We would explain everything to you in simple English.  We would complete the formation of a Limited company from appointing directors, secretaries, setup the company registered office address, issue and allocate the share capital, complete share certificates, maintain the company register, provide articles and memorandum of associations, and issue a letter for the bank to open a company bank account.

      C.I.S Taxation

Subcontractors on the C.I.S. scheme pay tax at source. What this means is that income tax, usually at the standard rate, is deducted before the subcontractor is paid each month. This normally results in an overpayment of income tax and a refund is subsequently payable by H M Revenue & Customs.
Our job is to ensure that you are not paying any more tax than what is necessary and that your refund is maximised after allowing for legitimate business expenses.

      Self Assessment

Self Assessment can be a complex administrative burden for many people.
To avoid penalties, it's important that...
    • Returns are correctly completed.
    • They are filed on time.
    • All backup records are retained for the appropriate period of time.

The enquiry powers and penalty regimes of HMRC are increasing all the time and expert advice and assistance is now crucial.
As well as completing your self assessment tax return, we can provide you with advice on your tax position and the planning opportunities available to you.
We will complete all necessary tax computations, the tax returns, calculate your tax liability and advise you on when and how much tax you need to pay.
We will correspond on your behalf with the revenue taking the worry away from you.

      Tax Planning

We try to do more than just complete your tax return and are more interested in maximising your tax planning opportunities. We all have to pay our taxes but within the legal framework there are numerous ways of saving tax and making sure you do not pay a penny more than is absolutely necessary.

New clients are often surprised at how much can be done to help with their tax position. As well as the day to day revenue and employee taxes it is important to plan for those taxes further down the line such as Capital Gains Tax or Inheritance Tax.

Assistance with Raising Finance & Capital

Most businesses need capital in order to get started. Later, funds will be required to allow the business to grow and fulfill its potential. Raising finance for a business is not easy, but there are many different approaches that can be tried. Our connections with Independent financial advisors can help you to find the money that you need and ensure that it is provided in a form which is suitable and cost-effective for your circumstances. They could also assist you with seeking a mortgage to buy a house or re-mortgage a property. Our independent financial advisors are regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA)
